Cell Phones For Soldiers
Inyo County Waste Management has teamed with Cell Phones For Soldiers to collect used cell phones to be converted into "minutes" for the U.S. Military
personnel serving oversees. You can drop off your old cell phone at any County disposal facility or at the Waste Management office, 163 May St. Bishop, Ca. 93514
Used Automotive Tire Amnesty Event
In April of each year Waste Management will conduct a 2-day Waste Tire Amnesty event at the County Landfills and the Big Pine Transfer Station.
The public can bring up to 9-tires per vehicle into the landfills and manned transfer stations at no charge. No rims and not open to commercial tire dealers.
Seasonal Phonebook and Christmas Tree Recycling
This program is offered each Fall/Winter at the various County disposal facilities. Each Fall phonebook drop-off locations are found at your community Post Office and Schools.
Styrofoam packing peanuts can be taken to the UPS Store, 1335 Rocking W Dr. Bishop. 872-4560 (in the Rite-Aid shopping center)
Treated Wood Waste Recycling (Program not implemented)
Treated wood waste is defined as wood that has been chemically treated to prevent decay. This product will be collected at the various County Landfills and shipped to a disposal facility out of the County. (due to budget constraints the implementation of this program is on hold)
